Hong Kong Day 26 -- Hot Pot for dinner

Today Ciara and I decided to just walk to work, going down one of the streets that we don't normally go down to see if anything jumped out at us.  We saw a little cafe that had pretty good prices so we decided to check it out.  We each got omelets, they came with tea and toast.  I got a sausage omelet.  It was pretty good, but nothing close to what we are used to at home.  It was pretty thin, and had some sliced up sausage, instead of the thicker fluffy omelets we are used to at home.  For lunch we went to the kebab place, and I got some Chicken Biryani.  It tasted good, and I had some "chips" with it too, though I think I called them french fries more than I called them chips.

We worked on our project and were also able to meet with one of the IT employees to talk about the rest of our project.  We got information about how projects are set up so that we can analyze them.  Today and yesterday there were also news-ticker stories about our internship.  Yesterday there was a story about the interns in London, and today was a story about us.  Both included stories about what our projects are, what we have done in our free time, and a little bit about the program.  They had pictures from our time also, I sent them a link to the pictures that I have posted on here, so they took a few for the story.

Ana suggested today that we go to get hot pot for dinner, to a place that was all you can eat for 2 hours.    We finished work around 6, and had planned to go to dinner at 7, so we went and hung out at a bar down the street from the office for a bit.  We walked down to the restaurant around 7.  There were quite a few people in the restaurant, but it wasn't full, so we didn't have to wait for a table.  Ana got there about a half hour after we got there.  Because it was all you can eat, we ordered a bunch of different things, and got a soup base that was half clear broth and half spicy chicken broth.  We had beef, chicken, lamb, shrimp balls, meat balls, sausages, crab, cabbage, bok choy, radishes, fish, winter melon, noodles, mushrooms, and a bunch of other things.  We were there for around an hour and a half, and ate just about all of the food. It was really good, and it was around $20 US.  It was fun to be able to hang out and talk, and eat some good food.

Evelyn and I decided that we would walk from the restaurant back to Causeway Bay.  It is only about a mile, so it doesn't take too long.  When we got outside of the restaurant it was sprinkling a little bit, but we didn't think it would be too bad.  We walked a few blocks and then it started to rain really hard.  It rained for pretty much the whole walk back, at times it was raining really hard, but there were also a few times that it was just lightly sprinkling.  By the time we got back we were pretty wet, but it's warm enough that it isn't that bad.  It is supposed to be pretty stormy all weekend so we aren't exactly sure what we will do.  We don't mind being out in the rain, but if it is too windy some things may not be open.
