Hong Kong Day 37 - Lunch with Crown IT employees, Temple Market, and Monsters University

Normal work day, except we only have 4 left!  Its pretty crazy how quickly it's gone.  Stopped at 7-11 to pick up some stuff for breakfast and to have as a snack during the day.   We are working on the last bit of our project, and finishing up our report and presentation.

For lunch, we went with a couple of the IT people, Nicholas and Vivek to a restaurant a couple of blogs away.  It is part of the same chain as the place that I got the kebab at one day a couple weeks ago and also got a briyani one day.  Today we went to the sit down restaurant, the other is just a little shop with only a few seats so we got it to go.  The more formal restaurant also has a few more things on the menu than the smaller shop.  Today I got the "meat lovers" dish, I got the roasted chicken, and I got it on "chips," I could have had it with rice but I chose chips.  It was basically carne asada fries, except it was chicken and it had the middle eastern type flavors.  It tasted really good, I finished it really quickly. After eating we went back to the office and finished up the day.

We headed back to our apartments after work to change and then went down to the Temple market again.  I found a painting on a scroll, and also a watercolor of Hong Kong.  The scroll is a chinese painting of a landscape and a little village, it is the village in springtime.  There were a lot of choices, some small ones with a little flower, an animal, or some other small painting.  They also had larger ones (the size I got), with scenes that are depicted throughout the year.  They had winter, spring, autumn, summer of different scenes, and there were also some flowers/plants and some with animals.  There was even a larger size than the one that I got.  We headed back to Causeway Bay for dinner after we finished at the market.

Once we got back to Causeway we decided to get dessert first and some snacks/dinners after.  We went back to the place that we have gone a couple times and got mango pudding and shaved ice.  Today I got glutenous black rice with mango, and it also had coconut milk on it.  It was nice and sweet, and tasted really good.  The rice made it a little bit filling.  After we ate we went over to Wellcome, the supermarket chain in Hong Kong, and I got a sandwich.  They put them on sale at night, you can get them for $20HK instead of $33HK.  I chose the thai chicken sandwich, it was pretty good, not quite the sandwiches at home, but better than a sandwich I had a couple of weeks ago.

On the way to Wellcome, we passed Times Square where they had a Monsters University set-up.  It was really cute, they had all of the main characters, and some of the other buildings that I'm guessing are in the movie.  There were a lot of people there, but not nearly as many as were there when we walked past on the way to the restaurant for dessert.  We were able to take pictures of the character and also take pictures with some of them.  People stayed pretty organized.  Little lines formed on their own so that people were able to take pictures without other people in the way.  None of the lines were official, it was just everyone being considerate.  Pretty cool.

Went back to the apartment and ate my sandwich and watched a couple episodes of Modern Family.  Tomorrow we are going to go on the Crown Corporate Junk after work.  We are going to go to Lamma Island and eat at a seafood restaurant.  I think it is going to be at the restaurant that we went to the day we went to Lamma Island our first week
